Recently, Crown New Materials successfully completed the IPX8 waterproof test for its custom-developed PE foam double-sided tape for a client. This rating indicates that the product can be submerged in water at depths of 1.5 to 30 meters for 30 minutes while maintaining stable performance with no leakage. The successful completion of this rigorous test fully meets the client’s high standards and demonstrates Crown New Materials’ strong capabilities in waterproof sealing applications.

As a double-sided tape solution specifically designed for electronic devices, this PE foam tape uses closed-cell PE foam as the base material and is coated with acrylic adhesive, offering excellent adhesion, waterproofing, and cushioning/shock resistance. Its dense structure and outstanding sealing performance enable it to effectively withstand complex environments, including liquid exposure and mechanical impacts.
The product is widely used in consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices, providing waterproofing, dust-proofing, and shock protection for components like screens, battery covers, and cameras. Whether bonding frames or attaching screens to middle frames, its flexible adaptability fully meets the high-performance bonding requirements of smart devices in challenging conditions.
The successful development and mass production of this product not only reflect Crown New Materials’ deep expertise in the consumer electronics field and rapid responsiveness to customer needs but also showcase its agile and efficient customized R&D system. Unlike traditional development processes, Crown New Materials leverages a comprehensive technical platform covering adhesive formulation, substrate selection, coating processes, and quality verification, achieving full-chain, closed-loop control from material design to process application and ensuring deep compatibility between products and their intended applications.
To further meet diverse customer needs, Crown New Materials has upgraded its PE foam tape product matrix, covering general-purpose series, high-rise series, reworkable series, and heat-release series. The heat-release series leaves no residue after removal, addressing diverse requirements such as securing recyclable components in electronic products.
